Not only are Live and Sleep mattresses available in several degrees of firmness and support, but all three models are made with non-toxic, eco-friendly materials you can feel good about.

We tested the Live and Sleep Luxury Queen mattress and memory foam pillow for three nights to bring you this review.

Overview of the Live and Sleep

Live and Sleep is an online-only company, which means that their mattresses are shipped directly to the customer. This eliminates the middleman and ensures that you get the most competitive pricing available. It also enables the company to offer additional features like a generous trial period and free, no-hassle returns.

This company set out with the goal of creating a non-toxic, eco-friendly mattress that is better for the environment and for sleep.

They suggest that there are four reasons to choose Live and Sleep:

  1. Cradling comfort from conforming memory foam for a better night sleep
  2. The ideal level of support so you wake up feeling refreshed
  3. Non-toxic foams that are CertiPUR-U.S. and OEKO-TEX certified
  4. Part of every memory foam mattress purchase is donated to charity

Their eco-friendly memory foam is still a premium-quality memory foam but produced with less harmful chemicals.

Though it offers the same body conformance and comfort as traditional memory foam, it is better for the environment and offers better durability as well. Live and Sleep’s eco-friendly visco-elastic foam also has an “open cell” structure that promotes airflow for breathability, keeping you cool and comfortable all night long.

Live and Sleep offers three different models so you can choose the ideal level of firmness and support for your body and your sleeping style.

Detailed Review: The Live and Sleep Luxury Queen Memory Foam Mattress

Live and Sleep Mattress Review

We tested the Live and Sleep Luxury mattress and free memory foam pillow for three nights.

Overall, we were impressed with the attractive look of the removable fabric cover and with how quickly the mattress regained its shape after unboxing.

We found it to be very comfortable with minimal motion transfer. We also liked that the foam had a little bit of give to it, providing a comforting degree of contouring without the feeling of sinking in too much and becoming trapped.

To review, here are some of the top features offered by the Live and Sleep Luxury mattress:

  • A 12-inch mattress made up of 3 layers of non-toxic, eco-friendly, CertiPUR-U.S. Certified memory foam.
  • A luxurious, removable fabric cover that is soft to the touch and responds well to contouring.
  • A 2.5-inch comfort layer on top made of responsive memory foam for pressure relief and contouring comfort.
  • A 1-inch transition layer of gel-infused memory foam for cooling and to reduce motion transfer between the upper and lower layers.
  • An 8.5-inch support layer made of high-density performance base foam that provides structure and deep compression support for the body

The Live and Sleep Luxury mattress is described as a universal comfort mattress, which means that it is somewhere in the middle of the firmness scale – Live and Sleep calls it “medium balanced.” We found it to be very supportive, though we can see how a heavier sleeper might experience more sinkage, and it seemed to provide equal support in all sleeping positions.

Edge support was not as strong as an innerspring mattress but was comparable to other memory foam mattresses we’ve tried.

Now, let’s take a closer look at some of the specifics about the Live and Sleep Luxury mattress.

Unboxing and Setup

Live and Sleep Unboxing and Setup

The Live and Sleep Luxury mattress came in a fairly nondescript box with the company’s name on it. The box was very beat up with several tears.

When we tried to move the box, it became clear that the rough handling was probably due to the fact that the box didn’t have any handle cutouts or any means of making it easier to maneuver. We struggled significantly to get the box indoors and up the stairs.

Upon opening the box, we found that the mattress was folded in half, then rolled and wrapped in plastic. Unlike several other bed-in-a-box mattresses we’ve reviewed, it did not come with a plastic-cutting tool. It was still fairly easy to remove the plastic and maneuver the mattress onto the bed frame.

The mattress regained its shape quickly, though there was some off-gassing during the process.

Support and Motion Transfer

With three layers of memory foam, the Live and Sleep Luxury was very supportive, and we didn’t find it to be too firm. In fact, it was significantly softer than some memory foam mattresses we’ve tried.

The mattress measures 12 inches thick and is made up of three layers. The first is a 2.5-inch layer of responsive Premium Memory Foam to provide a relaxing hug and pressure point relief for all sleeping styles.

Next, a 1-inch layer of gel-infused memory foam which reduces motion transfer and adds pressure-reliving conformance.

The bottom layer is 8.5 inches of high-density support base foam, which provides structure for the mattress as well as support for the body.

Because the Live and Sleep Luxury has a little more give than some memory foam mattresses, the motion transfer is very minimal.

This is a good thing for heavy sleepers and for people who sleep with a partner, though it does come at the sacrifice of a little bounce.

It is great for side sleepers because it conforms well and absorbs pressure at the hips and shoulders but also works well for back sleepers because it contours to the lower back to relieve pressure on the spine.

Sizing and Pricing Information

The Live and Sleep mattress comes in six sizes ranging from twin to California king – this is true for all three models. Again, the Classic mattress is a medium level of firmness, the Elite is firm, and the Luxury is a balanced level of medium firmness. All three models feature a memory foam construction.

Here is a rundown of the measurements, weights, and prices for each size:

The total price range for the Live and Sleep mattress is $399 to $949. The Classic mattress is the most affordable option with the Luxury being at the higher end of the price range.

These prices are highly competitive, especially when compared to what you’d pay at a brick-and-mortar mattress store. Live and Sleep is able to keep their prices low because they only sell online, getting rid of the middleman.

Not only does Live and Sleep offer competitive pricing, but they frequently offer promotions on their website to save as much as $150 off the retail price of a mattress.

Most mattresses also come with a free memory foam pillow valued at $60. For Elite and Luxury mattresses, you’ll also receive free 2-day shipping for additional savings. Payment is accepted via all major credit cards, and financing is available through Klarna, subject to credit approval.

Shipping, Returns, and Warranty

The Live and Sleep mattress comes in three different models, each with slightly different rules.

The Classic mattress is the most affordable of the three but only comes with a 30-night trial period and 4-to-7-day standard shipping. Both the Elite and Luxury mattresses come with free 2-day shipping and a 75-night and 100-night trial period, respectively.

For all three Live and Sleep mattresses, returns are hassle-free. Simply contact the company about your concerns, and they’ll work with you to find the ideal solution to ensure satisfaction.

All three Live and Sleep mattresses come with a 20-year limited warranty for the original purchaser of the mattress.

This warranty covers the mattress against defects in workmanship and materials and guarantees that your mattress will be replaced or repaired if found defective. This does not cover normal wear-and-tear or normal body indentations up to 1.5 inches.

The Live and Sleep Pillow is also covered by a limited warranty. It covers deterioration in the cell structure of the material and physical flaws in the material that cause it to split or crack despite normal use. It lasts for 5 years from the original date of purchase.

Is the Live and Sleep Memory Foam Mattress Right for You?

Live and Sleep’s claim to fame is being one of the top non-toxic and eco-friendly mattresses on the market, but they also offer breathable, conforming comfort in three different firmness levels. This enables you to choose the perfect mattress to suit your preferences and sleeping style.

The Live and Sleep mattress is competitively priced and comes with a trial period up to 100 nights, depending on the model you purchase. All three models utilize cooling memory foam technology to keep you comfortable all night long with the peace of mind knowing that you’re not exposing yourself to harmful chemicals or harming the environment with your choice of mattress.

Though the Live and Sleep Luxury mattress is a great choice, it may not be the ideal fit for everyone.

The Live and Sleep Luxury Mattress might be the perfect mattress for you if:

  • You’re looking for an affordable option in a memory foam mattress
  • You sleep on your stomach or side and need a mattress to support your sleeping style
  • You sleep with a partner and need a mattress that has little motion transfer
  • You are a heavier sleeper and need a mattress that minimizes sinkage

The Live and Sleep Luxury Mattress may not be the right choice for you if:

  • You need a longer trial period to determine whether the mattress is a good fit
  • You prefer the feel and bounce of an innerspring mattress
  • You prefer a softer mattress – the lightest option is still medium-firm

Final Thoughts

No mattress is perfect, and the Live and Sleep Luxury Mattress certainly has its highs and lows. Though we only tested the Luxury model, we appreciated that the company offers three different models with varying levels of firmness and support. All three incorporate the same CertiPUR-U.S. Certified memory foams and are both non-toxic and eco-friendly.

If you’re looking for a memory foam mattress that gives you the comforting support of pronounced contouring while also limiting motion transfer, the Live and Sleep Luxury mattress could be the perfect fit for you. It also helps with temperature regulation, and it is competitively priced when compared to other memory foam mattresses on the market. We only wish the trial period were a little longer.
